NCL Inc.,  Glendale Chapter’s Sellebration is a community wide rummage sale held each fall.    By providing clothing, accessories and household items for sale at affordable prices, Sellebration benefits not only clients from the Chapter’s philanthropies such as Ascencia and the YWCA, but also local residents.   Members donate gently used items and local businesses also provide new items for sale.   Patronesses and Ticktockers set up and staff the sale together, offering a unique Mother/Daughter experience for the entire Chapter.

From the Heart:   Blood Drive

The Chapter hosts a blood drive in conjunction with the American Red Cross in July, a time at which blood donations are dangerously low nationwide.   Ticktockers provide delicious baked goods at the post-donation canteen and mothers and daughters staff the event and donate blood, as well as soliciting friends and family members to donate.    From the Heart has become one of the most successful blood drives in Southern California.

Senior Mother Daughter Tea

The Senior Mother Daughter Tea is a much cherished tradition.  The Junior class plans and hosts an exquisite, formal tea service for the mothers and daughters of the Senior class.   The Ticktockers are instructed in proper etiquette, table setting, and the elements of a formal tea menu.   As one of the final events during their Senior year, mothers and daughters reflect on their National Charity League journey.

Senior Presentation Ball

In keeping with National Charity League Inc.’s time honored tradition, the Glendale Chapter hosts a Senior Presentation Ball annually.  The Ball is the culmination of the NCL Inc.,  program for our Seniors, as each young woman is introduced to the gathering as her accomplishments and honors are listed.  Following an endearing and breathtaking waltz with her father, the Seniors and their families enjoy a magical evening that celebrates the NCL Inc.  experience for each Ticktocker and her family.

Awards Tea & Fashion Show

Each spring, our Chapter hosts a Mother/Daughter Tea, featuring a Fashion Show by the Junior class.   The Ticktockers receive professional training to walk the runway with confidence and style.   Featuring casual to formal attire, the Fashion Show is a highlight of the Junior Class year.   In addition to the Fashion Show, the Tea is  where our Chapter honors Ticktockers for their outstanding service.   Ticktockers who meet certain hour requirements above and beyond their class hours commitment are eligible for the awards.  Finally, the Tea is where our incoming provisional class is announced.   Our newest Ticktockers and Patronesses  enjoy the fashion show and join  in celebrating our award winners.
